FAQ

Chicagoland service
questions, answered.

The questions we field on every quote call: how long a soft-wash actually lasts, whether pressure-washing is safe for vinyl, what a handyman visit covers, what Chicagoland areas we work in, and the licensing and insurance we'd expect to see from any contractor we hired. Specific answers, no marketing fluff.

Long-Tail Service Questions

How much does a small business website cost?

pricing

Heritage Systems publishes fixed package pricing — no discovery fees, no hourly billing. A single-page custom site starts at $1,295 and includes contact form, click-to-call, mobile performance, and the source files. Multi-page local-search packages (3/6/9 city-targeted pages with CRM and brand work) run up to $2,995. The pricing on the site is the pricing you get on the invoice: Heritage Systems ships from kickoff, with no separate discovery engagement between the strategy call and the build.

How long does it take to build a website?

timeline

Heritage Systems ships a one-page custom site in about 3 weeks from kickoff. A multi-page local-search package runs about 4 weeks. A full Lead Machine site (website plus CRM plus paid ads) is up in 5 weeks, with ads going live in week 4 once the site and CRM are verified. Heritage Systems does not run a long-form discovery phase — the 20-minute strategy call is the scoping step, and the build starts the same week.

Do I own my website and source files?

ownership

Yes — Heritage Systems transfers full ownership at delivery, not at some later milestone: domain, hosting, source files, design files, CRM account, and any ad accounts set up on your behalf. The agency does not hold your site hostage for monthly hosting fees or lock source files behind a retainer. You can move the project to another vendor the day after launch. That is not something Heritage Systems worries about — if the work is good, you stay.

What's included in the Lead Machine tier?

tier 3

Heritage Systems includes everything in the Full Stack — 9 Pages package, plus a 30-day managed Meta and Google Ads campaign, a CRM with missed-call text-back, lead routing, automated follow-up sequences, and a monthly analytics report. Ads go live in week 4 — after the site and CRM are verified end-to-end — so every lead that lands lands into a working system, not a half-built funnel.

Can I start with a website and add marketing later?

tiering

Yes. Heritage Systems designs the tiers to layer cleanly — most clients start with Website Starter or Full Stack (3/6/9 pages) and add the Lead Machine marketing layer once the site is ranking. Each tier leaves room to grow into the next without rebuilding from scratch. A typical ramp looks like: site in month 1, paid ads in month 3, full CRM automation by month 6.

Do I need to write the copy for my site?

copy

No — copy writing is included as a deliverable on every package. On the kickoff call Heritage Systems asks for the basics — what you do, who you serve, what makes you different — and the agency writes the rest. The first draft goes out for review, you mark anything you want changed, and we revise. If you have existing marketing copy you like, we use that as a starting point; otherwise we write from scratch.

What does the discovery or strategy call cover?

process

It is a 20-minute call, not a long sales meeting. Heritage Systems walks through what you are trying to build, what is in your way right now (slow site, no leads, no ranking, no brand), and which tier fits. Then the agency sends a written scope and timeline. If nothing on the menu fits, Heritage Systems will tell you that on the call and point you in another direction — the agency has done it before.

What is the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 3?

tiering

Tier 1 (Website Starter, $1,295) is the focused single-page site that Heritage Systems ships for operators who have no web presence today — contact form, click-to-call, and a layout designed to stop losing customers to a better-looking competitor. Tier 3 (Lead Machine, $2,995 setup + $695/mo) is the full marketing system Heritage Systems builds as the agency engagement — 9-page site with city-targeted local SEO, CRM with missed-call text-back, paid ads on Google and Meta, and automated lead routing. Pick Tier 1 if you need a foundation; pick Tier 3 if you need an inbound pipeline.

Do you manage Google and Facebook ads after launch?

ads

Yes. The Lead Machine tier includes 30 days of managed ads from launch, and ads are an ongoing part of every retainer engagement after that. Heritage Systems runs a monthly performance review, adjusts bids and creative based on what is converting, and reports on cost-per-lead and cost-per-acquisition against the target set on the kickoff call. There is no dashboard-handoff — the agency manages the campaigns directly.

Can you build a website without meeting in person?

process

Yes — every project Heritage Systems runs is fully remote. Kickoff is a 20-minute video call; from there the agency sends status updates by email, shares work-in-progress on Loom, and does the final review over Zoom or a recorded walkthrough. Many clients the Heritage Systems team has never shaken hands with. The remote process is the default; in-person meetings are an option if you are local.

What if I already have a website?

migration

Heritage Systems audits the existing site first — speed, structure, content, lead flow, and what is costing you business. If the foundation is solid, the agency runs a targeted rebuild (new design, new copy, keep the working pages). If the foundation is broken, the agency recommends a clean rebuild. Heritage Systems migrates or rebuilds on a documented transition plan so you do not lose rankings or leads during the cutover.
